@tinynoggin @vadimkosmos Do you have some other examples, Raechel? Surely this not actually Bardot... https://t.co/uDIdraN8TI
@vadimkosmos Sorry, there's another show in Nov 1967, 'Mister Gainsbourg', that has 'Comic Strip' listed in the performances. 🤓
@vadimkosmos I went looking in a Swiss archive I use for old French TV listings & music articles, and the first mention of Comic Strip is a listing for the Tilt episode. Then nothing until the Bardot show 6 months later. pic.twitter.com/hG5NCpWtkH
@vadimkosmos I keep forgetting there is actually a translation of Verlant's book. I'll have to grab a copy.
@vadimkosmos And I believe the Bardot version doesn't debut until the show Spécial Bardot? That was Jan 1, 1968. Funny, I've seen both of these (I have the full show with SG & Darc, too), and I never put those dates together!

@vadimkosmos This one? ina.fr/video/I04232189
@vadimkosmos Really! I'm gonna have to listen to both to compare now...
BTW, I notice there are quite a few versions performed on French variety shows - SG & JB a few times, Cloclo & Jodie Foster, Dutronc & JB... it's quite an odd song to become something of a standard.
